Coach Kate

Skating Director

I am Coach Kate. I started my skating journey when I was little through my senior year of high school.

I have been coaching with WFSC for 26 years! It does not seem like that is possible, but I still enjoy instructing new skaters just learning the skills as well as the skaters I have coached for years. I coach all levels of skating offered at WFSC from Snowplow to Accelerated, as well as our specialty classes.

You can reach me at my email: katiegrulke@gmail.com

I am typically at the rink Saturday mornings, however during Ice Show season you will see me a lot more.

COACH STEPHANIE

INSTRUCTOR COORDINATOR

I am Coach Stephanie (Steph). I started my skating journey when I was 5 years old and finishing it when I graduated, 13 years later.

I went to college and graduated from UW-Whitewater. I moved back home and started my professional journey, leading me to Walsworth in Ripon as a Project Coordinator.

I was approached to come back and coach in 2015, and haven’t turned back. Entering my 10th year at WFSC, I have had the opportunity to coach all levels offered from Snowplow up to Accelerated.

I am not currently accepting new skaters for private lessons, but am always happy to recommend a coach.

You can reach me at my email: fletchersn09@gmail.com

I am always around the rink to help with any of your questions, do not hesitate to ask.

COACH HAILEY

Hi, I am Hailey (Mischler) Bresser! I got married in September of 2022 to my husband Joe Bresser and we have a 9 year old dog named Timmy. We will also be adding our first baby in the middle of August and are very excited for our next adventure as parents!

I started skating when I was 4 years old and skated until I graduated high school, about 14 years. I skated on the Waupun Synchronized team for about 5 years and did a few solo competitions. This is going to be my 7th year coaching. I've taught a verity of classes including snowplow, basic, free skate, AOE, power and jumps and spins. I passed my adult bronze skating skills in the summer of 2024 and am working on testing for my adult silver skating skills. I love watching all the skaters progress throughout the year and how comfortable they become with their skating!

Outside of skating I work at Central Wisconsin Christian as a middle school paraprofessional and enjoy spending time with my family and friends outside of work.

I am currently accepting new skaters for private lessons. You can contact me at (920) 517-0860 or mischlerhb@gmail.com.

COACH BRIELLE

Hello, I’m Coach Brielle. My passion for skating started when I was 4 years old, skating with WFSC for 15 years and then UW-Eau Claire for another 3 years. I competed solo for 3 years, spent 12 years with Waupun Synchronized Skating Team and 3 years with the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire Synchronized Skating Team. I have been coaching with Waupun for 11 seasons now.

Outside of skating I am a Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Responder with the City of Waupun, and a Nursing student. I also act in plays, and love spending time with my dog Bailey.

Unfortunately at this time I am unable to take on any more private lessons. However, I am always available to answer any questions you or your skater may have while I’m at the rink.

Here’s to another great year of sharing my passion and sparking that same passion for the WFSC skaters❤️

“Why shouldn’t you tell jokes while ice skating? Because the ice might crack up!”

“What is a lazy figure skater’s favorite move? The layback spin”

COACH MAKENYA

Hello, my name is MaKenya Potratz, and I am thrilled to join the coaching staff after working as a coaching assistant in high school. I am currently a Nursing student at UW Oshkosh and will be graduating in December with my BSN/RN. I have been skating since I was 7 years old at WFSC I was a part of the ice sculptures synchronized skating team in Waupun for about 2 years, then joined the swans in Beaver Dam for about 4 more years. I have also done some solo competitions throughout the years in Waupun. I continued skating throughout high school, more for pleasure than for competition, until I graduated. Although I have only assisted with coaching the younger level skaters, such as snow plow up to basic 2, I am excited to continue coaching and am excited to work with all levels of skaters. I am unsure about private lessons at this time due to finishing school, but I am open to helping any skaters if they need it! You can reach me at my cell (920)-324-5371 or email makenya62403@gmail.com with any questions I may be able to help with.
