PUBLIC SKATE RULES

SKATE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Skaters are required to observe all ice rules, demonstrate courteous behavior, and be considerate of other skaters at all times. Safe skating will be rigorously enforced.

Parents / Guardians are responsible for watching and caring for their own children

No entry without paying the public skating fee
No shoes / boots on the ice (Only individuals with skates are allowed on the ice surface)
Skate with the flow of other skaters, usually counterclockwise, and at a safe speed.
No carrying children / infants / backpacks / handbags while skating
No rough play, excessive speed, pushing, wrestling, fighting, weaving, chasing, racing
No kicking, digging holes, scraping, or stomping the ice with your blades.
Skaters practicing jumps and spins must stay in the coned off area in the center of the ice.
No hockey sticks or pucks allowed on the ice during public skating.
No throwing of any objects (sticks, pucks, cones, gloves, clothing, snowballs, etc.)
No food, candy (suckers / gum), or drinks are allowed on the ice or on the cap rails.
No alcohol, drugs, weapons, or vaping.
No skating under the influence of drugs or alcohol
No use of walkers unless you are unable to stand or skate unassisted - NO ADVANCED SKATERS
No sitting on walkers, pushing people on walkers, or leaving walkers unattended on the ice
No standing still (talking, on your phone, etc.) please move to the boards / edges of the rink.
No sitting / laying on the ice
No sitting on the dasher boards
No littering
No walking on the bleachers, up the stairs, or on concrete areas with skates on
No abusive behavior, spitting, fighting, bullying, foul language, or harassment.
No damaging or stealing rink / others property
Do not enter the ice if the zamboni is on the ice, or if the zamboni door is open
Report any injuries to the rink manager
Return all rental skates to the rental skate counter.

Rules are subject to change; all rules are not listed. Any behavior deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or inconsiderate will not be tolerated.

The rink manager reserves the right to remove and / or suspend an individual from facility use.

Ice skating involves some risk. Waupun Hockey Association and Waupun Figure Skating Club are not liable for any injuries that may result from this activity.

Please be considerate of one another’s health and safety and act accordingly.
